From Accountancy to the Countryside
Renulz Hedgelaying Contractors was founded by Tim Reynolds, following a long-standing interest in permaculture, sustainability and the natural environment.
After many years working as a qualified management accountant (ACMA, CGMA), the loss of both of his parents prompted Tim to reassess what he wanted from his working life and pursue a long-held ambition to work more closely with the countryside.
Renulz grew from that decision: combining a passion for traditional rural skills with a professional approach to running and delivering countryside management projects.

Hedgelaying is a traditional countryside skill that has shaped the British landscape for generations.
Rather than simply removing an established hedge when it becomes overgrown or unproductive, hedgelaying can rejuvenate the existing hedge and encourage it to continue growing as a dense living boundary.
For Renulz, practising and preserving this traditional skill is about maintaining an important part of our rural heritage while applying it to the practical needs of today's countryside.

Every hedge and site is different. We consider the existing vegetation, landscape and intended use when determining the appropriate approach.
RESTORE WHERE POSSIBLE
Established hedgerows can contain decades of growth. Where appropriate, our aim is to restore and rejuvenate rather than replace.
THINK LONG TERM
Good countryside management isn't just about how a site looks when the work is finished. We consider how the hedge or boundary will develop in the years that follow.
TRADITIONAL SKILLS. PROFESSIONAL SERVICE
Traditional techniques remain highly relevant but should be delivered safely, professionally and with an understanding of the requirements of modern landowners and organisations.

Renulz Hedgelaying Contractors is based in Swansea and provides hedgerow restoration and countryside management services across Swansea and neighbouring counties in South Wales.
Projects further afield may also be considered depending on the nature and scale of the work.
